When coming to the mission field it is great when you can read some books and information that will help inform you. Please find a list of books for reading that should be found in book stores. Thank you again for your consideration of coming the Hospital with the God’s work in Kudjip.

Pidgin Dictionary found on line: http://www.june29.com/HLP/lang/pidgin.html

Web Information site on PNG: http://www.pngtourism.org.pg/png/export/sites/TPA/provinces/pngwhere.html

Ministering Cross-Culturally, Lingenfelter and Mayers, Baker Books. This is a good book that will give you great insight to the culture that you will be in. Consider getting a couple of copies and reading and passing around.

Until We All Have Names by Bill McCoy – a missionary book from 2005-2006.

Peace Child and Lords of the Earth by Don Richardson – these were written about a tribe just over the border in West Papua but are still wonderful.

Papua New Guinea by the Lonely Planet - this book tells a lot of interesting things about PNG and the culture. Its good to remember when you read it that its written by non-Christians who do not have a high opinion of missionaries. Also some of the cautions about danger can be intimidating. I don’t think PNG is any more dangerous than other third world countries.
